As great as The Time Has Come Today is, I think these folks need to know there are more and better The Chambers Brothers songs. Also there’s some decent uses of CCR. But really no Hendrix? Anyway enough about music, I didn’t like this upon release and I still don’t. Some decent visuals. A cool Cannibal Holocaust homage. The effects are less than desirable. Terrible first person gun views. Mostly boring. A super lame Apocalypse Now riff. A bunch of bad humor. A total waste of Samuel L. Jackson, Toby Kebbell, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly. There is Hiddleston and Larson as well, not a fan of ether though. A failed attempt at a B-movie style. I liked the ending stuff with John C. Reilly. I just wanted to see Kong do a Batista bomb, is that too much to ask? This is pretty much just Margheriti’s The Last Hunter but with big CG monsters and explosions. Totally makes me miss the days of practical filmmaking.
