    Barbenheimer Part 1:

Oppenheimer kicks things off tonight with the most engaging three hour boardroom conversations I've ever seen. It's another strong entry from Nolan that loses its way somewhere in the middle before picking things back up.

For me the standout of the movie is the score. It does so much heavy lifting to ensure the three hour runtime doesn't drag. Personally I think the IMAX hype wasn't warranted with this one. There's not much that really screams "must…

    Barbenheimer Part 2:

    Ken/10

The main event of tonight lived up to every expectation I had and then some. Constantly funny, smart and relevant, this movie has set the standard for what filmmakers can do with IP and there's no excuses for popcorn shlock that's "just for fun" when this movie has all of the fun but with all of the quality.

Ryan Gosling delivered the best performance of his career and was born for this role. Margot Robbie brings…

    ★★½

Visually stunning but narratively weak, Out of Darkness is a movie that struggles with its identity. It's a coming of age story at heart masquerading as a horror without devoting the necessary time to either aspect for it to feel like a complete movie. It's like if you combined "Prey" and "The Ritual" but without understanding why either movie worked.

There's some great ideas here and the production values are genuinely awards worthy but overall it unfortunately leaves a lot…

    Men in Black II

    ★★½

It's okay but a big step down from the original. I actually can't believe this had a higher budget because in a lot of ways it feels cheaper both in terms of the story and the set pieces. It's just very much a bit of a nothing sequel but I'm glad they found a way to bring back Agent K.

"It's just like a PlayStation game" is what my dad thought of this and that is exactly why I love it even if the runtime is a little exhausting. It was so fun to rewatch though especially the third act with the one-two punch of the Dragon's Breath scene followed by the stairs climb which for me is the franchises best moment.

The visuals in Chapter 4 are next level especially compared to other movies of the same ilk which…

This movie very quickly became one of my favourites and every rewatch makes me fall in love with it all over again. Every aspect of the film is handled masterfully and comes together into a perfect mix that creates one of the greatest blockbusters ever made while also being a shining example of how a legacy sequel can be done. The practical stunts always get the praise but the VFX team were the unsung heroes with flawless, unnoticeable CGI that…
