It's actually a joke how much of an improvement The Prisoner of Azkaban is on the previous two films in just about every aspect. Things get a lot darker in this instalment and it improves on the storytelling vastly thanks to Alfonso Cuaron's direction. I used to think of this as the weakest in the franchise when I was a kid but now, whenever I rewatch the franchise as an adult, it's easily the best of the franchise. That's growth.
