    Last Night in Soho


    This might be my favorite movie of 2021 so far. I loved the mysterious aspect of the plot and I was constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. I will say that the twist at the end I definitely did not see coming and it took me aback in the best way. Truly a great film that I highly recommend.

  • Dune



    This film to me, while visually breathtaking, was probably the most boring film I’ve ever seen. It felt like long exposition and just an unnecessary prelude to another film. It felt comparable to Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace where there is just a bunch of talking about space politics that nobody cares about, but Dune does not have a Darth Maul to save us from boredom. Instead we are stuck staring at our watches wondering when this movie will finally end and we can do something more exciting: like watching paint dry.

    As someone who genuinely enjoys the Marvel Cinematic Universe and superhero movies in general, I had high expectations for this film. While the trailers didn’t grab my attention, surely the film would be good. After all, it has an acclaimed director and a pretty talented cast. This could be a breath of fresh air for the MCU that honestly can be formulaic at times. Well, it wasn’t that breath of fresh air.
