  There's a really good movie hidden in here.

  Some of the main complaints I've heard about this are not my issue. Tim Allen should not voice this reimagining of Buzz Lightyear, he's a different style of character. The whole "Andy's favorite movie" framing device is stupid, but not important to anything about the film and so it didn't matter much to me. And obviously, the whole conservative uproar is stupid and pointless.

  This movie truly gives good reason to hate Italians!

  ...I admire a lot of this, especially the direction of the biking scenes which is thrilling. Great to see a movie that can direct competitive racing so well. I think my main issue is that the script wants it to be both a character study of the main character as well as an ensemble piece with all three of his friends, and all three of them aren't given enough... their arcs…
