    I wanna cuddle up with little old Joe Pesci so bad. 

    It’s fitting that Scorsese’s filmography begins and ends where it does, starting on the mean streets of New York City, and ending (least, for the time being) in a nursing home, at a time when all the heists and whackings and schmoozings are a thing of the past.

    I like this a lot more than I did on my first viewing. I’ve come to peace with a lot of my issues with the film. Yes it’s too linear, it’s 90% style and 10% substance, a decent amount of dialogue does not work, and seems to be a bit tonally confused—funny when it’s trying to be serious, and overly self-serious when it could really do with lightening up. But—but—it’s totally awesome.
