  • The Northman

    The Northman

    Same, feral Alexander Skarsgard, same.

Dripping in Robert Eggers’ distinct tone and style, it’s another excellent entry for him. No matter the scope or budget, he is clearly still firmly in control here. It’s his movie through and through.

The use of color is excellent, the performances bolster what would in worse hands be just a relatively straightforward plot, and the mythology hits so right.

Exactly what I wanted from a Robert Eggers Viking epic. He delivered on his promises and I’m stoked.

  • Everything Everywhere All at Once

    Everything Everywhere All at Once

I’m not sure I’ve seen something this good before. When everything because all too much, all that matters is what matters to us. And it matters so much.

    A perfect, perfect film.

  • The Worst Person in the World

The Worst Person in the World

A shattering look at turning thirty and finding your direction in life. An excellent blend of style that seamlessly moves through the live of Julie, played to perfection by Renate Reinsve.

    It’s just *that* good.

  • The Tragedy of Macbeth

    The Tragedy of Macbeth

Denzel Washington gives a flawless performance in one of the best looking movies of the year. The cinematography and production design are unparalleled. Perfect.

  • The Batman

    The Batman

It’s the best Batman and it’s not close.

You better count your days, Fincher, because Matt Reeve knows all your tricks.
