Spencer ★★★★½

I’m not quite sure how Larraín manages to keep pulling this off. It’s a stunningly made portrait and yet another hazy and delirious nightmare, in the best way.

I don’t see a scenario where Kristen Stewart doesn’t walk away with the Oscar for her performance (although I said that about Natalie Portman for Jackie and I was massively let down there). 

I do wish it had leaned a bit more into itself, rather than teasing these incredible moments before pulling back just a minute earlier than I’d like. But even that as a critique is such a mild one, I can’t really fault it for the beautiful path it leads us down regardless.
