Welp, I certainly feel like a fucking dumbass for putting this off for so long. Hell, I don't even know why I put this off to begin with. If there's any type of film I adore, it's one that can combine multiple different genres and do it in a way that makes sense. City of God is one of those genre-blenders. City of God is a brutal, gritty, uncompromising, and honest piece of filmmaking, one that delivers on both sides of the camera, from its outstanding performances to its slick, stylish yet nonetheless gritty, powerful direction. Don't make the same mistake I did by putting it off for years before watching it. Watch this when you have the chance. You won't regret it.
