Judas and the Black Messiah

Judas and the Black Messiah ★★★★

'Judas and the Black Messiah' is likely going to have a permanent home on my Top Ten list for 2021 despite it only being February; the story is compelling, the music is a little chilling at times especially that jazz motif they use off and on, and the direction feels honest and uncompromising, but it's the acting of Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield (and, to a lesser extent, Jesse Plemons) that really carries the film. It's a surprising release for February aside from it being Black History Month, the film would feel more at home in October-December just in time for Awards season. Very good.
