I could have sworn I'd Letterboxd this previously but evidently not. Is 'Temple of Doom' the weakest of the three original Indiana Jones films? Yeah. Does that make it a bad movie? Hell no, in fact there are things I think this movie does better than the other two. I've really grown to appreciate the darker tone as I've gotten older and Short Round is great. What brings 'Temple of Doom' down some is that it's lacking either the rip-roaring fun of the first film or the emotional punch of the third; 'Temple of Doom' as good as it still manages to be, largely just "is what it is" for the majority of the film.
