The Northman is brilliant. From the casting to the look of the film to the story, everything is great here. Robert Eggers is definitely one of the finest directors working today, all three of his movies have that feel to them that you just know who is behind the film when you're watching it.

The locations for the movie are glorious and the full thing looks beautiful. Eggers choice in casting has always been good and never better here as he enlists Anya Taylor-Joy & Willem Dafoe again and adds Nicole Kidman (amazing here) Alexander Skarsgard & even a cameo by Bjork.

The Northman never drags and is a thrill ride from the get go with intense violent scenes and tries to be as accurate as possible for the setting. It may well be the finest Viking movie ever made. Highly recommendable.
