Joey Lumbreras’s review published on Letterboxd:
Everything Everywhere All At Once is one of the most original films I've seen in a long time.
The action was fantastic. Reminded me of the action sequences from Scott Pilgrim vs the World. This film was also surprisingly hilarious. There were so many great jokes that really got to me. There's this one joke involving one of my favorite films of all time that I couldn't stop laughing at and it was easily the funniest moment in the film. The performances from Michelle Yoh, Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, James Hong, and Jamie Lee Curtis were absolutely fantastic.
The middle kind of dragged for me in all honesty but once we got the 3rd act I was completely thrown off by the film. I laughed and I surprisingly cried.
By the time the film ended I decided to watch it again immediately became it felt wrong to give it a 8/10.
I watched it again and I absolutely loved it a lot more. The 2nd act didn't drag at all on my second viewing. I noticed a lot more details throughout the film which makes it even more awesome.
The overall lesson of the film honestly got to me. I was an emotional wreck while watching the 3rd act.
I'm just so happy we got this amazing film and I can't wait to see what the Daniel's have in store for us next. I highly recommend watching this in theaters. Easily the best film of 2022 and one of A24's best films.
