Stranger Than Fiction 2006
On rewatch the conceit and performances still offer something rewarding, but I feel like this movie offers the appearance of depth without really developing its characters, even Harold. We don’t really learn why Karen Eiffel always kills her protagonists or what’s kept her away from publishing for a decade (with smoking and an obsession with death standing in for something with mental health), and now that I’m not watching this in high school I can see the manic pixie dream girl-ing…
