Joe Gola’s review published on Letterboxd:
A new run-through of the old testament story which does the tale justice but which doesn't go so far as to add anything thought-provoking or new. Biblical-scale special effects, as you'd expect. Joel Edgerton's performance as Ramses is a highlight. Certain other actors looked like they wandered onto the set by accident.
The movie is quite long and threatens to stall out once or twice, but overall I thought the story was told fairly well. The tough question, though, is, "even if it's done well, is this a story that needed to be retold?"
