I've finally got around to watching this classic, and it was pretty damn funny, I'll admit. The way Bill and Ted were speaking all Shakespearean-like combined with surfer tones was kind of jarring for me at first, but I quickly got used to it. I was quite surprised to see that the historical figures got along so well together (especially Genghis Khan and Napoleon); I expected a lot more commotion and death battles between them. But then again, this is supposed to be a comedy film, not a bloody R-rated film.
I suppose the biggest issue I had with this movie is how the sense of urgency was utilized. If Bill and Ted were running out of time, why couldn't they just go back in time with the phone box while avoiding their past selves? It was literally that simple. Yes, I get that they're dumb, but Rufus could've at least told them that. Isn't he the one who should be desperate about saving the world? Whatever. All in all, this film was enjoyable and funny enough to get a laugh out of me, which is a rare accomplishment.
