I love when a Jack Nicholson role goes against his swaggering public persona. The stiffer and more humorless the better, which is why I love the King of Marvin Gardens so much.
Overall, I preferred the otherworldly atmosphere of The Shooting but I still plan to go deeper into Monte Hellman this year.
As provocative and derisive as I'd hoped for but most of the banter falls totally flat. The jokes, especially from the FBI characters, feel like C+ Veep zingers.
I wanted to enjoy this much more than I did but I'm still enthusiastic about checking out Four Lions, which seems to be the consensus for best Chris Morris movie.
