ari aster does what ari aster does best—mind fuckery at its finest. i’m genuinely terrified and baffled at the chilling performances the cast gave. i am by no means a film expert, but trust me when i say that hereditary will leave you with some of the most solid, goosebumps-worthy, will-stick-to-you-in-a-long-time performances and film sequences. i’ve said it before, and i will say it again: i never want to know what goes on in ari aster’s brain. he sure loves his cults.
