X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes

Watched as part of Hooptober X... 10/31
--> 1 film with an 'x' in the title

    😱🤢😲🤖👀👀

X was a surprisingly decent movie from Roger Corman. It's not the work of a schlockmeister... it's a fairly complete film with decent acting and good direction. I was genuinely pleased... most of the time.

The film is about a doctor who experiments with ways to make the human eye see beyond its limited range. Which basically means he gains the ability to…

    Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth

    ★★★

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Now this is more like it. After enjoying the first Hellraiser on rewatch and not having the same pleasure with Hellraiser 2, I'm back to rather enjoying Hellraiser 3. This Netflix original is thematically confused and confusing... both misdirected and directionless and not a little bit peculiar. It's either about a person who abandons her responsibilities or about the difference in class between…

    Sound of Freedom

    ★★

Over the holiday weekend, I saw this flick was playing at my local theater but hadn't heard of it before. And when I checked out seat availability, it was PACKED. Almost every showing, at least during the day. I saw it was long (2+ hours) and categorized as "action" (but don't believe the lies... it ain't). So I went, looking forward to... something... and I certainly got something.

The flick is the true(ish) account of an agent for Homeland Security…
