The music is excellent for the time. The dancing is perfectly 70s. Watching this first as a teen some 38 years ago I could recall how the music and dancing were the vibe. Now, some 45 years later, it seems so incredibly tame, simple and old school. Movies now are dark, disturbing and evil. This film was simply a slice of how life might have been. Not much has changed in the world. Only the clothes and music. Same shit,…

Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton had a blast making this film. Possibly not for all to enjoy but it is very much a pleasure to watch.

Films from the 50s have a different way of actors communicating, especially in speech that is very non like accents of today. Yet. There is a terror in the tones of speech that made this eerily real.
Enjoyable?....possibly is not the word yet I recommend this, the book and the film made most recently to get a gyst of where we as a society have chosen to land.
    Keep your diary.

  • Louis van Beethoven

    Louis van Beethoven

    ★★½

The opportunity to write a screenplay and make a film about the mastery of Beethovn and his life seems such an honor. This film does not quite make anything tie in together to deliver a neat little package about Beethoven's life. Wasted and boring moments of film time sit scattered instead of getting to the heart of this musical genius.
    Sad disappointment
