i have zero shame about this 4.5 star rating for 80 for Brady. this should be what gets lily tomlin her oscar. make a comedy award.

before the movie, i went to grab a couple slices of pizza around the block. i overheard an elderly couple discussing their opinions of 80 for Brady and pondering how real the “true story” actually was. i turned around and told them i was on my way to see it and asked if they…

i genuinely really like all the bits with smaug and honestly pretty much everything that was actually in the book. however, i hate all the unnecessary filler created for these films. i don’t care about the orc plotline at all. i care about bilbo! and smaug the scary dragon! and i miss gollum.

i waited in the sun for seven hours to get into the premiere, and it was so worth it. it’s so over the top and gaudy and everything i could have wanted. i love Baz Luhrmann, and you can feel how much it’s his movie every second. truly one of the last modern day auteurs which such a distinct, unique style. no one can call Baz derivative!! and please can we talk about Austin Butler!!! what a performance!!! he is…

genuinely so sweet and fun. i hope millie bobby brown gets to make as many of these movies as she wants. i love her and will watch anything she’s in.

also louis partridge is just so cute. i can’t deny it. and henry cavill is obviously henry cavill.

anyway, loved that this was partially based on a true, empowering story. the supporting characters were wonderful. the introduction of moriarty and watson is so fun for the series’ future.

    long live enola holmes!
