The Great Gatsby 2013

Rewatched, rerated, and my initial thought is that this is one of the better book adaptations. Now, the first review I read disagrees with me. Click on his profile, favorite movie: Hot Rod… *thinking to myself* “ah okay so my taste is still in tact”.
Baz Luhrmann does well to keep a 1920’s feel, holds everything important to the book true, and that car race under the eyes of God. So sweet. I agree with others about the feel of the movie though. It’s like a sweaty fever dream, but to me that’s just the 20’s after all the drugs wear off, baby!

I wish I gave this one a chance sooner. Underrated, incredible visuals, and a story that kept me interested. Some jokes missed… they always try to leave some for the adults and some for the kids, but one fart joke is enough.

I finish this movie with 3 questions:
•What/who is your Fiji?
•More importantly, what is your fear of water keeping you from Fiji?
•More more importantly, will the customers at that bar ever get their beer refilled or do those waitresses just watch tv all day?
Movies like this make me wonder why it took so long for me to watch them… I mean I was 1 when…
