Phill Hill’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is only the second time I’ve ever watched this. The first time was only when I was in 5th or 6th grade. I’m pleasantly surprised to see that it holds up in 2020. There were only two moments to where I cringed with a couple jokes that don’t land as well now.
All in all, a very genuinely fun, humorous, and unique time travel adventure, especially for its time. I’m sure this is not the first time anyone has said this, but I’ll lovingly refer to it always as American Doctor Who! Haha. There’s a timeless charm to it that locks it in as a founding influence in the time travel genre. The fact that they do not take themselves too seriously cements it, where it doesn’t come off as a rival to Back to Future (BTF part 2 came out the same year) but as a fun companion.
