Miami Connection

I totally get why this is catnip for bad movie enthusiasts, but I dunno--it never quite achieves the otherwordly awfulness of something like MANOS: HANDS OF FATE or TROLL 2. It's more like a movie that an overly earnest eleven-year-old might make if given the resources, one whose value system essentially boils down to affirming that drugs and gangs are bad, and that Taekwondo, friendship, rock 'n' roll, pizza, fathers and racial harmony are good. It's badness doesn't really feel like the result of incompetence, but rather a simple lack of slickness, subtlety or knowing cool. Its terrible, but its also kind of sweet in a way that makes it rather difficult to out-and-out hate.
