Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww.  Well that was quite the experience.  Barry Keoghan is one of my new favourite actors from the last few years and he delivers another great performance in Saltburn.  Emerald Fennell’s directing is fantastic and I laughed and cringed in a ton of scenes.  Started to lose me in the middle but boy oh boy what an ending.  👍👍

Some of the best shot battle scenes in a long time and another incredible performance from Joaquín Phoenix.  Ridley Scott at his best.  My only complaint is that for a 2 hour 38 min movie it felt like it should have been longer.  Just like with Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven I feel like the director’s cut will be perfect.  👍👍

Worth it for Jackie Chan.  Jaden Smith is surprisingly good but he is no Ralph Macchio.  The movie has this 2000/2010s feel to it that hasn’t aged well.  I grew up with the original so yes I’m biased but I still feel like if the original had never been made and this was it’s own film it would still be a good film not a great film.  I also prefer wax on wax off to jackitoff.  Maybe that’s just me. 🤷‍♂️.  👍

Heavy contender for my favourite film of the year.  Just as tremendous and epic on the rewatch.  👍👍

Perfect film to watch at the theatre on a cold winter day.  Loved the cinematography and performances.  Harry Melling as Edgar Allen Poe was the standout performance in the film.  I’m a bit of a Poe enthusiast and Melling was exactly how I would picture Poe to look and act.  It’s too bad he isn’t getting awards buzz.  I was a little disappointed by some of the reveals but was also surprised by some plot twists.  The Pale Blue Eye was right up my alley!  If you can, go see it on the big screen!  👍👍

Michael Fassbender is one of my favourite actors and he did not disappoint in The Killer.  An entertaining thriller from one of the greatest directors David Fincher.  The plot is pretty standard and I started to get a little tired towards the end but this has a lot of memorable scenes and one “killer” soundtrack.  👍👍
