I’ll never hear "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)" by Nine Days or think of Ratatouille the same way ever again. (Edit 4/11/22) Here’s a link to a great article about Nine Days involvement with the whole film. It’s more amazing than I thought.
Maybe my favorite Michelle Yeoh performance? She’s amazing. And it’s so great to have Ke Huy Quan back on screen. I had no clue he knew how to fight! He kicked ass with a Fanny Pack! And then got to have some beautiful Wong Kar-wai type scenes with Michelle when she’s a movie star in one universe. He looked so handsome and dapper and she was her gorgeous self and then there was some fabulous neon lighting to top it off.
Jamie Lee Curtis looked like she had just as much fun as everyone else. She gets to do some fighting too, while wearing a hilarious wig. And then in one ‘verse she & Michelle get to be a couple (with specific hands…) and it’s so cute and touching and absurd, just like you’d expect from Daniels. This completely makes up for Halloween Kills not using her.
First Jackass Forever. Now this. And The Batman & After Yang. 2022 is already turning out to be an incredible year for Film.
