  Seeing this for the first time…wow…so amazing. One of the best compliments I can pay this movie is to say this; movies never scare me or unnerve me in any way…having said this; this film came close on several occasions! 

  I loved the practical gore and the jump scares and, of course, the last 10 minutes!

  What happened to the dad?
  What happened to the daughter?
  Was the bad guy a wolf?
  Was the bad guy just a sick predator?
  Why were the x’s on the trees?
  Why did the mom leave her daughter in a cabin with a complete stranger?
  Why wasn’t the daughter in school?
  The dad sucked as a hunter!
  Ugh!
  The last two minutes of bloodletting could not rectify the other 1 million minutes of what was essentially a massive letdown mired in utter ambiguity and tedium!

  I shouldn’t like this movie! I didn’t like this movie. For an hour and a half I hated it. I mean come on! How can you like Adam Sandler‘s character?! He was grating and loquacious, a frenetic wart on the butt of society! There was nothing admirable or honest or salvageable about his soul or the cheeseparing world he lived in! 
  And yet...
  I found myself rooting for him in the end! Against all odds, I liked him. For the…
