Jack 🧠’s review published on Letterboxd:
An overwhelming and often gruelling cinematic experience. 'Becoming a monster to defeat the monster' is a storytelling trope that has been countless times before, but not quite like this. Evil can not be defeated, you have to humanise an evil person to truly destroy them. The cat-and-mouse pacing of this thriller allows you to spend equal time with hero and villain; allowing the viewer to start to see the cracks under the surface. Unwavering in its ferocity and sadistic qualities, I just think South Korea makes some of the most remarkable thrillers; blending together modest tension with over the top and gratuitous violence.
My eyes have surely gone to hell, because I Saw The Devil.
