Abbie’s review published on Letterboxd:
I watched this for the first time last year on Christmas Day after getting it as a present, and I knew then it would become an annual Christmas tradition for me. Christmas Evil is a gloriously dark film with some genuinely heartwarming moments amongst all the murdering. It has some truly interesting topics and themes, and it’s head and shoulders above other low budget horrors from this era. The psychological story pulls you in from the get go, it’s well acted, and is infinitely rewatchable. I was originally planning on watching this with the John Waters commentary but realised I couldn’t remember an awful lot of the film so I watched it without. Hopefully I can sneak in a watch of this with the commentary some afternoon next week. Merry Christmas and to all a good night!
