Jacob’s review published on Letterboxd:
Hayao Miyazaki delivered a wholesome film about the art of children’s imagination. I don’t know what it was but this film didn’t connect with me on a personal or emotional level like his other films. The animation was spectacular and the music was nice but other then that, I wasn’t invested with what was going on. I felt it to be average. I do enjoy the message that the film gave and all the characters were fine yet I just don’t see as much replay value as compared to Miyazaki’s other films like Spirited Away. Overall, a fun innocent film.
