seasonal shift’s review published on Letterboxd:
ABSOLUTELY need to watch again bc last night was a real despair syndrome with temporal purge kinda night and resultingly kinda bounced off of a lot of this BUT real ones might understand why my favorite moment was the moment where autistic, cis father (silas) and autistic, trans child (victor) bridge their otherwise vast experiential gap w a single look in a hallway which carries an empathetic charge that clicks something into place and impels cis father to carry out an act of faith for the sake of trans child and their friends before passing each other like ships in the night. this has personal resonance beyond my relationships with my (probably to almost certainly autistic) parents. it spoke to my desire for people to have (had) more faith in me. but what i am coming to understand is moments like these are often what real empathy looks like. they sometimes carry with them the sensation of stone.
