Ok... I just came into this expecting something different... so it wasn't bad but I wanted it to be something else... which isn't the best criticism....
I was just so excited when I saw the words "Almodóvar" and "Murder Mystery" in a description of this movie. I thought this was gonna be more campy and fun (and it is in parts) but it was actually a fairly sincere mother-daughter relationship movie.
The colors were awesome and Victoria Abril wearing Chanel in prison was amazing. I love musical numbers, drag, and the allusions to Spain culture that I just learned about in that Spanish cinema book that I read. ALSO, I have to say that I knew the whole time that el juez was Lethal. Sweetie, a beard and glasses did not hide your face like you thought it did.
