The Director’s cut of Blade Runner is 5 stars for me. Harrison Ford’s voiceover definitely enhances the noire atmosphere, but the visuals and score already establish the tone excellently. For me, the voiceover ultimately spoils Ford’s facial acting and silent acknowledgement after Rutger’s amazing final monologue in the third act. The studio manufactured ending that was shown in theaters is absurd imo, but to each their own I guess.
