Old school 90's style thriller feeling.
Southern California as a setting.
All the things I like in a detective cop duo hunts weird serial killer movie. This one really leans a lot into the clichés that often accompanies these stories. But these films are inherently silly most of the time, so I find no fault there. Problems start to show their face at the execution & technical aspects - like the ultra weird digital look for a movie set three decades ago. It just does not makes sense and muddies up the feeling.
But the biggest problem of them all - it's apparent that Rami Malek's mouth still can't get over the separation of Mercury's prosthetic teeth from Bohemian Rhapsody. It's practically fighting back at his acting sometimes.
Not the best of the bunch but a solid watch because this kind of movie is becoming very rare, if not extinct.
