Double Indemnity is an absolutely fantastic film noir, definitely one of the best of the genre. Up to this point, I haven't rated a Billy Wilder film less than 5 stars, so I'm a tiny bit disappointed that it didn't quite live up to the very best of his work (ie. Sunset Boulevard, Some Like it Hot, The Apartment). Even so, saying that my least favourite of his work is a 4.5, says a lot about the genius of that man.

Both lead performances are legendary, most likely the finest aspect of the film, if not, only second to the stellar writing. I also adored the classic venetian blind lighting and the terrific score. Incredible filmé.
