Where the Crawdads Sing was a film that didn’t offer much from the get go. The first hour was a slog to get through and the final act made it that little worthwhile. The story jumps from present to past continuously throughout the film and that makes it a little harder to proper connect with the main plot point of the film. Especially in that first hour I forgot a murder even happened with how much time we spend in the past. I did think the cast did a good job, Daisy Edgar Jones is brilliant once again. The romance in the film works but something that takes a while to get into. Overall the film was quite generic, told in a pattern that didn’t work well, the cast carry and the final act was where it felt like it came together a lot more!
