I don't know if Eggers has a capital-G Great film in him, and I still ultimately like what he's going for (reviving the folkloric traditions of various eras/nationalities without cheapening them with updated ideals or even clear moral ends) maybe more than the finished product. And yet, once again, I had a hell of a fun time. Sometimes all you need for a movie is a girl and a magic sword.
