Jaime Rebanal’s review published on Letterboxd:
Just all around delightful, if a tad formulaic. But everything where I'd normally find myself worried about how this film handles its subject, a character with Down's syndrome, I already found myself won over by how earnestly the story is told - and it put a smile on my face by the time it was over.
Shia LaBeouf and Dakota Johnson are great, as one could expect, but Zack Gottsagen is a whole other level. The central relationship between the three only drives the film forward, but Gottsagen being an actor with Down's syndrome also adds a sense of humanity towards the portrayals of characters with such a mental disorder, he never feels like a stereotype but every bit as human as one could ever imagine.
Together with The Peanut Butter Falcon embracing its playful nature, it's just sure to make you feel happy.
