The Little Things

The Little Things ★★

The title seems like it's everything that the film took away from what filmmakers like David Fincher have done masterfully through films like Se7en and at its best, it seems like that's exactly what John Lee Hancock is trying to replicate in The Little Things. But in addition to just being a bad imitation of what's already been done better, you can't really help but shake off the feeling that outside of Jared Leto, no one here is really giving this movie the sort of energy that you'd expect from a film of this sort. That's not to say Jared Leto in this is any good, but he's somehow not even close to the worst performance in this movie.

Instead, it's Rami Malek that seems so out of place in this film - and often distracting above everything else, giving his Bohemian Rhapsody performance a run for the money as maybe his worst performance yet. Just a bore above all.
