This film is an absolute blast to sit through. I was not a huge fan of The Last Jedi, which is the last film Rian Johnson directed, but this proves that he is definitely a legit original film maker. Knives Out has some nice twists, although one was predictable since the murderer was revealed in the first 30 minutes. Because of that there had to be a twist, but that is more of a nitpick than a big issue. To start off the good, I have to go to the direction. Rian Johnson has some great direction here and the screenplay is very witty and fun. The script is very clever and that never subsides. This film is also so much fun and is surprisingly extremely funny. The cast is something to marvel at. Daniel Craig, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Christopher Plummer, Chris Evans, Toni Collette, Frank Oz, etc. This might be the best cast of the year, although that is rivaled by The Irishman and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Still a phenomenal cast and they all shine in their roles. Ana de Armas is the standout for me and Daniel Craig’s speech about donuts had me in hysterics. This movie is not the best of 2019 but it is possibly the most enjoyable.
