Jacob Knight’s review published on Letterboxd:
Plays more like this weird Hong Kong inspired action/horror hybrid than a superhero movie, with Snipes' fighting skills on full display thanks to Norrington keeping the camera medium-wide and cutting with only moderate quickness (comparatively speaking). The plot to Goyer's script seems pulled from a 70s Blax playbook, as the vampires are essentially master race supremacists, Deacon Frost going as far as to call Blade an "Uncle Tom" and fetishize the black man's genetics so that his "superior" traits can be extracted and then used for white dominance. Kinda crazy that this came from Marvel, no matter how early in the development of comic book cinema. All this shit would be toned down or excised completely by some generic MCU installment.
