This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I am speechless. From Stewart’s insane performance to Larrain’s impeccable narrative structure and direction, to the master Claire Mathon’s incredible cinematography and Greenwood’s monumental score - this film is firing on every cylinder. There is no criticism or thought I can give to this film that would knock it down, it demands our attention and my obsession time and time again, it can never be watched too many times. Best of the year hands down, and deserving of every Oscar…

    The Father

Really no words... but how incredible was Anthony Hopkins. The script and flow was astounding, confusing and turning every minute. Amazing to be on the receiving end of a downward spiral of consciousness — this film exhibits the great power of cinema, and we have been given a perspective very few can convey.

Requires some patience to sit through, and I may only see it once, but what a watch it was! So great and incredible, with some of the best acting of the year from Pattinson. All in all a beautiful powerhouse of a film, we should all be thankful for how weird and unashamed Eggers is.

  • Parasite

Incredible film best viewed with no information or spoilers beforehand: which was how I saw it. The cinematography, set pieces, and acting were phenomenal. A bit trying at times - the usual with foreign sensibilities, but through any cultural differences shines this incredible film. Easily deserving of best picture and best director. A reminder that original films can triumph in 2019.

An absolute tour de force of incredible visuals and actors. I was a wreck walking out of this film. Some of the best dialogue and conversations I’ve seen in a movie - with it’s fair share of unique cinematography. A soft ending, one that may or may not wrap everything up, but perhaps that’s the point...

  • Whiplash

Astounding, intense film that is a true testament to the power of great actors.
