What a treat! The way this movie flows back and forth between the main story and the various vignettes is just delightful. The scene with the woman squeezing all the foods in the grocery store is among the funniest things I've ever watched.

Big dumb action movies don't get much more entertaining than this film's first half. One absurd action scene after another. Unfortunately, once everyone heads to Rio in the second half things slow way down. On the whole, it's still a ridiculous good time.

    SUMMER MOVIE MIND MELTER 2021 - #3
What a feast! An heir to the acid-soaked style of animation found in the 70s and 80s, this movie just oozes with atmosphere. There's a lot of really nice camera movement and perspective work, especially for a film that was entirely hand-animated by a single person. An incredible feat of imagination and dedication by Nick DiLiberto. Stoked to be able to check this one off the watchlist as a part of this marathon.

David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet

Why are these awful netfllix documentaries the only movies my roommates ask me to watch with them?

I'm sure Attenborough is well intentioned, but his ecological critiques are woefully behind the times. We see clips of him giving talks at Davos and the IMF, and yet we can't even get a mention of the corporate role in the oncoming climate disaster. These tired arguments about over-population have got to stop.
