I probably should have played the drinking game while watching this?
I’m going to be harshly honest I think this film and franchise is just ok it has its fun moments, it has some charm to its plot and characters but it’s mostly just boring for such a long runtime I just don’t find Pirates to be that interesting.
It’s a very well made film of course with Disney’s budget and Gore Verbinski skillful directing style, the score has a great atmosphere, many fun and thrilling action sequences, great cinematography and a great cast that embrace and deliver great performances that immures you into this quirky adventure, even though I didn’t think there was a great chemistry in the romance subplot between Will and Elizabeth. There’s nothing wrong with the film it’s a good story I just don’t find the pirates mythology that engaging.
