Apologies for the rewatch spam recently - I've been going over old favourites to check if they're still up to scratch (and showing some classics to my girlfriend at the same time) - but I'd just like to give a shout-out to Temple of Doom real quick. Yeah, it's the goofiest, most exhausting, and probably most racist of the original Indy movies, but I've got such a soft spot for 80s insanity on screen and it just doesn't get much wilder than this on a blockbuster level. The action is literally non-stop, with more comedy and horror injected to fill the gaps and no room for a concrete narrative or fleshed-out characters. Short Round still kicks ass, janky blue-screen is always fun, and the cinematography is genuinely gorgeous to boot. An unfairly-maligned rollercoaster ride running on cocaine and sweat.
