I was in awe of this film. How can someone make something this beautiful? This poetic? This majestic? I didn't think I could love Rooney Mara more but holy shit what an actress. Ryan Gosling in his best performance since Drive. Natalie Portman is fantastic as always. Michael Fassbender is a legend in this film. Malick has never made a film this romantic, this intimate, this lovely, this heartbreaking, and this beautiful. I'm L I V I N G !

She pushes away everyone that she loves and cares for so that darkness won't seep into them. But there's a light inside of her. A light that wants to shine but never will as its taken away from her too soon. These are the last seven days of Laura Palmer's life.

I wonder how this film would do now if it came out today, such an oddity but a joy to watch.

This was the one I was most interested in rewatching. When I watched the “Three Colors” trilogy 6 years ago, I thought “Blue” was great, “White” was okay, and “Three Colors: Red” I thought was pretty good. The first two are obviously the consensus but “Red” was one that for whatever reason at the time, I just didn’t connect with. Thankfully that’s resolved because I’m fully on board with this masterpiece.

“Red” is an incredible work of art. As I…
