This Brazilian gangster epic is the mix of the stylized look at gangster life from Goodfellas with the brutish reality of The Battle of Algiers and I loved every second of it. The editing, the characters (especially Li'l Z and Benny), the suspense, the storytelling were all excellent. My first venture into Brazilian cinema and I'm super excited to see more. This is a film that is really hard to pinpoint why it is so good and I can tell that it will get so much better on rewatch. A cinematic spectacle that is energetic, fun, and breathtaking!
