Temple of Doom is freaking awesome man. As much as I love Raiders of the Lost Ark, I love Temple of Doom. It still has some laughs and is arguably the closest that the series gets to being a horror movie. It’s super brutal, dark in many ways, and also has some gnarly deaths. The addition of Short around is the best too. Seeing him in this as a kid made me so happy. The opening sequence also holds a light to Raider’s opening. Although this technically serves as a prequel, this unique story is everything you’d want from an intense adventure movie.
