More a response to critics than a review-
Corporate? Sure. Contrived? In ways. But goddamn did I need some no-nonsense feminism-for-dummies right now. It’s mainstream because it’s relatable. That engenders solidarity. Can we just have something that’s both fun and empowering for once and not tragic or overwrought?

Appreciated the gore, but the overall product was severely lacking in camp. The plotting and emotional framing felt lazy and trite. I expected more of a replication of, or at the very least an ode to, what made the original franchise so daring and intense.
