23 | Watch an action film released in 2023.
A friend called me and asked if I wanted to watch JOHN WICK 4 with him, knowing that I had already seen it. Naturally, I said "YEEAHHH"! So I tag along and watched it again, this time in IMAX!
Well...long story short...it was a BLAST! I liked it even more second time around!
I will try not to write much this time around because I said almost everything I had to say about JOHN WICK 4 in my first review. But once again, I have to point out the movie is an exhilarating and action-packed experience that is sure to entertain. The film excels in many areas, such as its brilliant and crazy stunt choreography, camera work, editing, and sound design. Also, the soundtrack adds to the excitement, making the experience even more immersive.
While the film may require some suspension of disbelief (actually a lot), it doesn't detract from the pure entertainment that John Wick 4 provides, so who cares how many car hits and falls from tall buildings Wick has survived...this shit is SO MUCH FUN!
The hyperkinetic and beautifully shot action scenes are exciting and eye-popping, and the film's visuals are a treat for the eyes. The fact that the three-hour runtime flew by is a testament to the movie's quality.
I loved the whole Killa Harkins sequence even more this time! Sure, Donnie Yen steals the show, so does Keanu...this is entirely their show...but Scott Adkins is underdog in this movie, and I just love that he delivered a standout performance that proves to everyone that he deserves more recognition.
Also, I wanna know more about the character played by Clancy Brown and his backstory...was he like Wick once? How he lost his finger, and why!?
All in all, in case you didn't know (lol), JOHN WICK 4 is a must-see experience for action movie fans...a gloriously insane experience! After my first watch, I had some doubts about whether I preferred JOHN WICK 3 or 4....but after this rewatch, that doubt is gone! JOHN WICK 4 took the top spot. A 169 minutes of pure action entertainment!
Winston did say "Just have fun out there"...and I did, again!!
